TeamCuzz's much anticipated league debut ended up in dissapponement (dissappointment + postponement) this past week due to torrential rain and a water-logged pitch. It was really no surpirse as it had rained the whole day all over Singapore, and that other games in the league were cancelled too. However, the pressing issue still remains - "Is it just us?" I'll leave you with some possible explanations to ponder...
(Note: Fictitious names will be mentioned to protect the identities of 'guilty' parties)
1) Jersey debut = Rain. The same thing happened to our FBT Blue as well. We ended up issuing that at Pasir Ris Pri(see picture below), and that too because the match on that particular day was cancelled.
Learning point: Do not buy too many jerseys. And if we wana parade our new jerseys, dun tell anyone. Absolutely no one.
2) Too many TeamCuzz players were missing, and so it defeats the whole purpose of playing. Khairli was 'happy' the game was cancelled so he will not miss it. It somehow seems sensible that we didn't play that game too as we would not be able to show the true prowess of our team.
Learning point: Everybody, let's try to make it. If not, I suggest we give up that game for our co-team to play.
3) Dun mention game is cancelled before the game is cancelled. In Malay, jangan tegur. I hafta admit I was one, and I'm sure some others like Hisyma and Saifudni too.
Learning point: If the cloud's getting dark, keep quiet. Switch off handphone. Shut your eyes tight. Recite a prayer or two. (Caution: prayer before sleeping might not be a wise choice). Open your eyes. If there's still dark clouds, switch on handphone. Brace yourselves and await a call from messenger of postponement.
4) We did not have a wet weather programme. I'm not sure why but everytime we do have one, the sun's bright and sunny. Shahrudni did want to have one after game's postponement, but it was too little too late.
Learning point: Have a wet weather programme before the game's postponed. It doesn't matter what it is as long as we have one. After all, we wouldn't need it. (Caution: effectiveness of this might be severely reduced since I've 'tegur'ed it already).
5) God didn't wana make Shukru's white shorts dirty.
Learning point: Wear black shorts at all times. We shall make it a standard from the next game onwards.
6) Faizlu didnt shower that day as he was studying physics all day long. And so too didn't the boys from Ubin & Tekong like Faisla and Syafqi who only managed powder baths at best.
Learning point: Shower at all times. Do not compromise.
7) Our mums prayed for rain. So we could go to Nek Anjagn's jemputan. Or at least stay home and watch Hindi movies on Central at 4pm.
Learning point: Never understimate the power of mum's prayers.
