Soccer in Short

(In that little corner in the Sports section in Straits Times, below "Gombak beats Super Reds", it reads...)

FC MBOG earned their second straight victory in the the SAMTAS League as they battled and prevailed in another thrilling encounter against Team Kamikaze 4-3. The match started with the usual problems for FC MBOG - insufficient players and a last minute scramble to field 11. But it turned out well in the end as they perservered after succumbing to a 2 goal deficit at the start of the 1st half.

FC MBOG scored on both sides of the half through Daniel Amokachi's thunderbolt shot from outside the area, Phillipe Albert's sweet chip, Saeed Owairan's solo run from his own half and an acrobatic finish by Benito Carbone, giving FC MBOG another 'sweet-come from-behind' victory.

FC MBOG sits firmly at second spot with 2 wins, a draw and a lost. They have a game in hand but trail leaders EECC by 6 points. Said the manager, Ken Wooden, "Apart from the first game, we've done our part to reap as many points as we can get. We'll just have to see if our co-team(TeamCuzz) is up for the challenge."

That is provided they get to the field first before the warden calls.
