Meeting/League Update

In the light of Man City's phenomenal transfer bid for AC Milan's Brazilian maestro Kaka, several top men from BPL's leading clubs came together to have a meeting to hijack that bid. This included Zulkhairi Hicks, Fazlon Glazer, Captain Shahrudin Neville, Arsenal's Khairil Rice, and Imran Kenyon.

Their initial plan of eating at the same hotel where the controversial meeting between Ashley Cole & Mr Mourinho didnt materialise as the hotel do not accept last minute bookings. They settled for a comfortable and convenient Afghan Restaurant, as always. At the end of their tense discussion, they came to a conclusion that their Wish, Picnic, LatioS, S4 and Pulsar, plus whatever empty can drinks they could collect and sell at Afghan could only be enough to purchase Kaka's left earlobe. Hence, they dismissed the idea and went on to talk about more sensible stuff - the progress of TeamCuzz.

The first was how bad TeamCuzz funds were affected by the credit crunch. Actually, not at all. To all TeamCuzz players, the collection will be done until Jan 09, and it shall be ceased from Feb to May, where the League season starts. Any money that has been paid beyond Jan 09 will be brought forward to after the League season i.e. June 09 most probably. Pls see below for the latest list of payment. As you go down your row and Jan 09 colum, and see blanks, you know what to do.

Next was the league proper. The payment issue came up first. Several suggestions were put on the table (literally) for consideration, but after calls were made to TeamCuzz players, the suggestion of a lump sum payment of $100 per outfield player was deemed the best. On top of that, our permanent GK, Aril, will be charged $50 (since he's the GK and is serving NS), and none will be charged for students (Syukri & Amirul) and the injured (Faizul). Here's a list of future payees: Kamal, Shikin, Sarip, Heri, Fazlon, Faisal, Hisyam, Muhamad, Khairi, Shahril, Shahrudin, Saifudin, Aril*, Khairul, Khairil, Naufal, Riduan, Syafiq, Shukur, Imran. Upon full collection, this will amount to $1950, to be paid for 14 league matches, 1 friendly match, and drinks during those matches. The importance of collection of these fees is crucial so we can pay the amount on time, particularly on these dates: 14 Feb, 7 Mar & 4 Apr.

Next was committee reformation. With TeamCuzz's involvement in the league, and the sudden growth in size of the team, there was certainly a need to make necessary changes to the committee as well. With immediate effect, the posts of Formation Manager & Match Organiser will be dissolved. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our Formation Managers, Saifudin & Faizul for their countless number of SMSes sent to coordinate games, and to Match Organisers Faisal & Luqman for their effort in booking pitches and arranging games. TeamCuzz will certainly look forward to their continous support in the future.

As for the new Committee, Kamal was unanimously appointed the Manager of the team due to his in-depth knowledge and experience in soccer. He will be aided by his Assistant, Zulkhairi, and Captain Shahrudin in finalising formations, tactics & pre-,half-time & post-match briefings. Shukur, Kharil & Khairul will remain as the V/Capt and treasurers respectively. Imran will act as the league liaison person for TeamCuzz for this league season.

Despite the new committee, our objectives will remain the same. Our primary objective will still be to bond together as a family, having fun in the game that we all are passionate about. However, being in a more prominent league, we will also have a secondary objective, which is to challenge ourselves to fight for honours and improve as we go along.

With that done, all that remains are the administrative bits. Ive broken them into categories for easier understanding.

Call-Up
We will be reverting to a new calling-up system i.e. opt-out system. This will mean that we assume everybody registered will be able to make it on all matches unless informed. Failure to do so would constitute a fine for that player. The process is summarised below:-

Fixtures
This goes hand-in-hand with "Call-Up". The fixtures are out, so pls do make the necessary updates accordingly when the time comes. We will be having matches every single Saturday from this coming week to 16 May (except for Khairul's big day on 7 Mar). All of our games are scheduled for 3pm kickoff, with location TBC. In cases where there are postponement of games, we will inform you on that particular week.

Logistics
We will be using Yellow(Home) and Blue(Away) jerseys for the league. All jerseys will be held by just one person, and it so happened that Zulkhairi volunteered his services. So please bring all the Salming Yellow & FBT Blue that you can find at home to pass to him. He will be also be bringing GK gloves (sponsored by Shikin) for every game. In addition, Shahrudin will bring another pair of GK gloves, and 2 balls for every game.

Refreshments will be prepared/bought by either Fazlon or Zulkhairi. A budget of $10 will be given to them for this.
TeamCuzz is in serious need of a logo to keep up with the standards of amateur teams. We will be looking on whether Faisal Ali will be able to render his expert service in this field.

The meeting was ended on high spirits, particularly the mouth-watering prospect of competing with some of the best in the upcoming league. It could not have been any happier to the Voice of TeamCuzz, as he had vividly remembered proposing this then-vague idea to Shahrudin & Saifudin in a certain McCafe at DownTown East almost 3 years back. We've done it bros. Now, letz go sleep. It's late already.
