Dominance Translated into Points

Regent pitch, CCK - In the 5th game of the season, TeamCuzz finally put in a dominating performance to churn out a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Black Hawks. The result was a huge boost that reflected the team's growing confidence in competitive football. Although the scoreline could have been so much more, TeamCuzz should take heart at the clean-sheet they earned. It marked TeamCuzz's first ever clean-sheet since the mauling of Crescent Rangers eons ago. This was largely due to the team's combined defensive effort, marshalled by MoTM Fazley Ramli. Even more encouraging was the fact that the opponents threatened to score only once, but then found TeamCuzz's custodian at his absolute handling best.

Coming into the game, TeamCuzz were wary of their opponents as they had recorded rather erratic results, notably drawing 1-1 with league leaders Real Arrogant Madrid. Even more worrying was the fact that the whole of the Black Hawks team were geared up for warm-up and shooting session by 1430hrs. On the contrary, only 4 were ready for TeamCuzz by the time the referee came. It must be noted here that a walkover can be awarded at the discretion of the referee. That would mean an incurrence of a 3 nil loss & 150 dollars fine. For the parties concerned, unless you are feeling extremely generous to pay the fine & treat your fellow teammates, please do something about this.

With all that happened prior to kickoff, the 3 points was certainly well-earned thanks to the superb team effort put in by all. It must be noted too that the opponents had a hand in that, with their failure to put pressure on TeamCuzz players from midfield onwards. That gave TeamCuzz's midfielders the license to roam with authority. On the day where anyone could have scored from just about anywhere, TeamCuzz's goals were courtesy of a left-footed chip by Imran, a scorcher from distance by Syukri, and a left footed drive by Joseph Obaje. The debutant had an encouraging performance, filling the gap behind the lone striker the way Wayne Rooney would. He will definitely be a good addition to the team.

With that, TeamCuzz now creeps up the table into 5th spot after 5 games. They will next face Andrastos FC (formerly known as KR Old Boys) who have chalked up 1 point from the 2 games played. It must be noted though that TeamCuzz should not be complacent ahead of this tie, especially with regulars Saifuddin, Syukri & Shahrudin having ruled themselves out for various reasons. With a break to follow next weekend, it is hoped that players could rally themselves to be present for this tie. Thus far, TeamCuzz have some good news in the form of player availability. With some red tapes removed, midfield lynchpin-turned-central defender Zulkhairi & ex-Andrastos player Aidil have been made available to play. Whether they actually do play will be a different matter altogether.
