TeamCuzz wishes Speedy Recovery to Shikin

In light of Shikin going under the knife for his injured right knee, TeamCuzz players & supporters rallied behind their talismanic striker, showing support in their own respective ways. What was experienced this past Saturday was TeamCuzz's first in their 90 years of existence.

In a recent meeting with the board of Directors, TeamCuzz players proposed to forgo their August pay in their bid to contribute to Shikin's road to recovery. Even legendary ex-player, Suhaimi Buang, joined in the cause. The final amount was not known, but that had been reports circulating which suggested that the contribution was a reflection of how poorly the board is paying its players. "The wage structure at the club will be revised come the end of the season," said the club's financial advisor, Khairil Aziz, in a rather defensive tone.

What was amazing though, was the camaraderie that was shown in presenting the contribution to the injured player. Following a comprehensive victory over Dynamites, all TeamCuzz players - from Manager Zulkhairi to latest addition Joseph & everyone in between - made their way to Shikin's residence in Seng Kang. It was such a touching gesture that the baby was reduced to tears upon seeing TeamCuzz players. However, the fans had an even bigger surprise. A huge mob of TeamCuzz supporters had gathered in the hope to spur Shikin to a speedy recovery.

The turnout was astronomical, with reports suggesting that the numbers reached close to a million. It was an out-of-this-world figure considering the short fanbase list on the left column of this blog. Not everyone was happy though. "They made so much noise that I was awoken from my sleep!" ranted Mr. Ismail, obviously cool enough to hide his anger. Some fans even went to the extent of creating banners to show their expression & support for their hugely popular player.

There were also other fans there who had other agendas. In its bid to cleanse the soul of its players, TeamCuzz are planning to embark on their first ever CSR journey this Ramadhan. With talks at an advanced stage, TeamCuzz will be collaborating with 4PM in its Ramadhan-on-Wheels (ROW) 2009 project on 12 September. To date, response has been pretty poor, but based on the fans' protest, the club hopes that more players will board the bandwagon soon. The spokesperson wishes to remind that "the best of mankind is one who helps others."

Although TeamCuzz is a rather minute entity, there is certainly no limit to how far it can go in terms of making a difference. All in all, TeamCuzz will be hoping that this Ramadhan will be fruitful to all parties, both on & off the pitch. Or even, on & off the world too.
