Yellow Train Chugs on

Pitch 4, Turf City - TeamCuzz carried on their marvellous form with yet another victory, this time triumphing over mighty Dynamites 4-2. It once again stamps their mid-table position, with the top teams now closer than ever before.

As they always do, TeamCuzz once again made it difficult for themselves. All sandy, lousy pitch & toilet-less facilities aside, TeamCuzz really should have been raring to go after going for a one week break. The opposite happened though. With the mundane Turf City setting, came along a group of TeamCuzz players who looked too weary to even play. That led to a sluggish start and an unneccessary wake-up call, with Dynamite's left winger scoring after his tame shot was safely guided in by TeamCuzz's stand-in goalie.

Dynamites continued to dominate, with the Moorthy brothers controlling the middle of the park. TeamCuzz players were finding it hard to adapt to the sandy pitch, with their ball-on-ground plays often going awry. Soon enough, through-balls became the order of the day. One helped TeamCuzz secure the equaliser, after Joseph Obaje's through pass ended up at the feet of Imran who controlled the ball before placing it safely pass the outstrectched arms of Dynamite's ever-so-cool-and-confident custodian. That was the midfielder's only real contributuion of the match, with his energy significantly absent as he gasped for much-needed air throughout the half.

With the score tied at one apiece, changes were made at the interval. The fresh legs provided the impetus for TeamCuzz to steer ahead as the veteran legs of some of the opposition players started to give way. Although TeamCuzz had the lion's share of possession, it still needed quality finishing to put themselves on the front foot. Up stepped Joseph Obaje. His cutting edge finishes provided the real difference in the game. His first was a lob from outside the area, after Faisal broke free on the right. His second was a simple-tap in after Shukur's dazzling run down the left bye line. His final goal was a well struck volley, and that capped a deserved Man-of-the-Match performance for the young striker. A late consolotaion was provided to make the ending exciting, but the match had already been safely wrapped up by then.

With the 3rd consecutive win, TeamCuzz now has 12 points from 7 games. The next game against table-toppers Tuas Soccerites will provide a stern test of their resolve to be up there with the big guns. They will also be seeking to break their hoodoo of failing to notch points against quality opposition.
