Shazrin's Brace Secures 3 Points

TeamCuzz battled through elements beyond their control to emerge victorious against a competent Regresso side. Shazrin was the star of the show, popping up with 2 quality goals in the 1st half. The 1st showed the young striker's deft touch to lift the ball over the onrushing goalkeeper following Shahrudin's through ball. The 2nd was even better. Using the opposing centre back as a shield, he did a quick shuffle of feet before placing his shot to the bottom left corner beyond the goalie's outstretched arms. TeamCuzz also reserves special mention to stand-in goalkeepers Zulkahiri & Riduwan for deputising between the sticks.

The game, though, was never smooth. In fact, it wouldn't have started (or ended for that matter), with constant showers all over the island. Having had their game rescheduled from Pei Hwa to Macpherson after the warden called off the game at the former, TeamCuzz was informed of the bad news that the game at the latter was also cancelled while many were already on their way there. The team decided to head towards Pasir Ris Primary for their normal kick about routine, much thanks to the irresistible itch on everyone's feet for the instant, unanimous decision.

As TeamCuzz got ready to 'conquer' Pasir Ris Primary, another phone call came in to inform that the game at MacPherson was back on. And for the 2nd time, TeamCuzz had to rush back to Macpherson. Despite the already poor state of the pitch, no TeamCuzz player bothered and the game finally kicked off 5 minutes to 6. Ball stuck in puddle, ball skidding off the slippery ground and ball that can't be seen were the order of the day as both teams played out a fairly even game all the way till the referee blowed for final whistle at 7.15pm. Credit to both teams for wanting to start and end the game despite several attempts by the field warden to call off the game after it had already begun.

A certain Macpherson Operations Manager was interviewed to ask about the state of the field after the game. "It is about time the field is destroyed, if it hadn't already. Now, the school will finally take notice and do the necessary returfing."

TeamCuzz is glad to be of service, as always.
