TeamCuzz 1 : Club Futebol de Coral 3

TeamCuzz succumbed to a 3-1 defeat in the hands of Club Futebol de Coral in a friendly at Pasir Ris Crest this past Sunday. It leaves the team with a lot to ponder after a game which exposed their rustiness and lack of ideas. All goals were scored in the 2nd half, with Shahrudin's strike direct from a corner sandwiched in between 2 counter-attacking goals and a well-taken freekick from the opposition players.

Despite feeling disappointed that TeamCuzz did not produce their usual short-passing to dictate the tempo of the game against a team formerly managed by TeamCuzz's Pat KhaiRilce, Manager Shahrudin remained upbeat about TeamCuzz's chances for the coming season, claiming that the match was used to assess some of his newer players. He handed debuts to centre-back Razif and left-winger Ali, while recalling TeamCuzz's all-time favourite custodian Aril for a cameo appearance. He also had a chance to see the true qualities of TeamCuzz's emerging stars, Haidhar and Shazrin, both of whom played a large part in the opposition's victory, while seeing Faisal returning to his dazzling best.

Faizul does a way shorter version of Rory Delap; Khairil takes on 4 of his ex-prodigies; another debutant Razif in action as Aril looks on.

Above all, the best thing about this loss is it doesn't hurt TeamCuzz's title hopes any wee bit. In fact, it might just have provided that impetus to allow TeamCuzz to work harder, think faster & 'fight' together in search of victory.
