Lightning, Big Pots & Pans FC Comprehensively Beaten

Blk 456, Pasir Ris - In what was meant to be a weekend for rest and recovery, TeamCuzz found themselves in another gruelling match against powerhouses Lightning, Big Pots & Pans FC. Although it was the umpteenth time that the 2 sides face each other, they never got bored of it. It was the first time ever that a match wasn't cancelled despite the torrential downpour and flashing lightning all around. In the end, TeamCuzz triumphed, but the score was too intangible to be reflected.

The game saw TeamCuzz showcasing their Orange tops for the first time in a game. Well, it should also be the last time anyway. Contrary to the believe of many, the orange top is TeamCuzz's official polo-t. It showcases TeamCuzz's logo (co-designed by TeamCuzz designer Faisal Ali and Captain Shahrudin) and respective player's number. It is the pre-game attire for every future TeamCuzz game. What that means is that every TeamCuzz player who comes for a game shall don the orange without fail. Warm-up and pre-game teamtalk will be done in the polo-t as well if time permits. This shall be followed closely by all, with no room for any attention grabbing star wearing lime green or hot pink whatsoever. This is hoped to foster camarederie amongst the team prior to the game. For those fans out there, we have not forgotten you either. If you are interested in getting this limited edition polo-t, please place your order with our captain. He has reserved several for you in a variety of sizes. All proceeds will go directly to the team fund.

Now back to the game. The game started with TeamCuzz going on the offensive from the word go. They had everything under control, from the constant "top-ups" to the "clearing and washing of dishes". The support play was visible for all to see, with players covering for each other automatically when positions seemed void. This initiative was done very well and should be encouraged for every other game. However, the latecoming of several players caused some positions to be shorthanded, allowing the opponents to get right back into the game. Key players were also missing, notably Saifudin, Aril and Naufal.

It became even more chaotic soon after, when rain and thunders gave the opponents several chances to spoil the game. The "lack of cups" and "meatless curry" towards the end of the game posed the biggest threat in overturning the scoreline. However, TeamCuzz's rearguard stood firm, rising to the challenge every single time. Substitutions were also made constantly, ensuring everyone had equal playing and rest time (ironically, the latter was very much preferred in this game).

Another game, another well-fought victory. Definitely tiring, but one that was enjoyable and instills camaraderie. Being the sporting team they are, TeamCuzz offered Lightning, Big Pots & Pans FC a rematch, tentatively scheduled for August this year. For now, we leave you with several highlights from the game (Note: Highlights shall be added further once license to publish the photos are attained from our camera lady).
