Odds for New Season

SkyBiit has released the odds for teams battling it out for the right to be crowned kings of ESPZEN Saturday League Division 2.

3-2: Red Saga - Seemingly the team to beat, Red Saga has took the division by storm, winning 3 of their first 4 games. If their Managers are to be trusted, this is a team made up of Chinese nationals who are typically fit, determined and fast (& some say sleepy).

4-1: Team Bravo Police - Based on hearsay from a trusted source, Team Bravo Police is a team made up of police officers (duh). They are organised and have played together for quite some time now. Their quality has been likened to a certain Tuas Soccerites, who were indeed the most impressive team last season. They have a pivotal player Fadzil who seems to be doing just about everything.

5-1: Blue Oysters - TeamCuzz's old friend/foe for the past 3 seasons. Out of 4 games played together, record stands at 2 wins apiece and 2 draws. TeamCuzz needs to amass maximum points against Oysters to clear any doubts to which is the better team. Player to watch will be David Koh, the man who has never failed to score goals consistently season after season.

11-1: Team Fugu - They raised some eyebrows when they beat Team Bravo Police a week back. Another team that is earmarked as determined and energetic, with plenty of reserves on the bench and lungs to count on when the need arises.

The rest of the field fares lower in the odds, with bookmakers labelling them as "spoilers" who could play a large role in determing the destination of the title. Teams to note here include Real Ale Madrid (with the ever-impressive & exemplary Andrew Johnson lookalike, Olai), Saturday Pirates (with their Indian striker & rowdy players all-around), Sengkang Rangers (with a coach, if the team pic is to be trusted) & Dynamites (talented team of matured Mats). Other teams in the league are mostly new and anynonymous, failing to light up the division distinctly thus far for any outright comments to be made.

Where TeamCuzz stands relative to the rest of these teams above is somewhat a question mark waiting to be uncovered. It is premature to say that TeamCuzz will be winning the title hands-down just by judging from the 1st game. It seems too far-fetched considering the potential player absentees throughout the long season and TeamCuzz's knack of failing to rise for the big occassion. At the same time, it is hard to see TeamCuzz near the south-end of the table considering the quality and experience available throughout the team. Hence, it is fair to label TeamCuzz as the dark-horses for the title this season. Whether they lift up to that billing is entirely up to them (us).
