Curse of Sham Strikes, Again

It happened once, we dismissed it. It happened again, we labelled it as mere conincidence. & now it has happened again, & no one (absolutely no one) can refute the fact that it might indeed be true. The curse of Sham has struck TeamCuzz yet again. Future matches involving TeamCuzz's most tenacious player will be arranged discreetly without the knowledge of the player until the very last minute. & if the match still gets cancelled, I rest my case.

A waterlogged pitch might have caused TeamCuzz's scheduled friendly to be cancelled, but that certainly did not dampen their efforts in preparing for a large part of the new season. 16 came down to have a light kickabout session at Pasir Ris Park, with 2 of them being trialists for the coming season (the 2 did not make the grade though). The session saw Team Sham narrowly beating Team Faz 5-4, with the latter getting 2 goals chalked off after a review by the "dubious goals" committee.

Although everyone who came had fun, the most important aspect of the session was that players in attendance managed to practise a new type of football that TeamCuzz are rumoured to be aiming to play this season. With the Manager aiming to model TeamCuzz's style of play like Arsene's Gunners, 2-3 touch football drills were practised. This is hoped to enhance players awareness and off-the-ball movement as well as the pace of the team's attack. Although much needs to be done for it to happen in a match, it is certainly a step taken in the right direction.
