A point gained, or 2 dropped?

TeamCuzz entered their 2nd game of the season feeling rather confident of dispatching a team they had comfortably beaten twice last season. Little did they know that the jinx of Springfield continues to haunt them as once again, they lost precious points in a thrilling 4-all draw, with Dynamites scoring 2 in quick succession in the dying minutes. The drama was compounded with a little scuffle towards the end, though the Dynamites version of boxer Floyd Mayweather was fully at blame with his loudmouth & tendency to push people, literally.

"The game is played over 80 minutes, and we did not focus long enough to withstand the pressure," said a disappointed TeamCuzz fan living nearby. In any case, TeamCuzz should draw positives from the game, in particular the resounding attendance that continues to be key strength of the team. The composure shown when faced with the urge to fight & retaliate is also applauded, showing TeamCuzz's growing maturity to play the game they love rather than be distracted by unnecessary violence. Finally, goals scored has also been healthy, with TeamCuzz notching 10 from just 2 games. Goals were courtesy of Shukur's poacher's instinct, Hafizzudin's deadly finishing (twice) & Stevie G's belter. This is certainly encouraging, though fans would still want TeamCuzz to shore up their defence and notch a series of cleansheets which might prove pivotal in TeamCuzz's quest to upstage their 9 match unbeaten run last season.

The question of whether it is 2 points dropped or a point gained can only be answered at the end of the season. It can only be hoped that TeamCuzz will not be left to rue the 'what ifs'.
