Spoils Shared in Thrilling Encounter

Bendemeer Sec witnessed another 4 goal thriller for a 2nd consecutive week, with TeamCuzz drawing 2-2 with Gardenites. The latter had to dig deep to salvage a point with an equaliser at the dying minutes (perhaps even seconds) of the game. TeamCuzz must have felt hard done by, having had the lion's share of posession in both halves.

"As much as we should be happy to have not lost against another strong team in the league, we should really have held on till the very end and got all the 3 points. I am flabbergasted!" exclaimed Player-Manager Zulkhairi, when interviewed at the end of the game. He had every right to be, considering TeamCuzz was all chaotic towards the end of the game. Fans who came at that juncture would have thought TeamCuzz were the ones trailing by one. It was disappointing considering TeamCuzz had matched Gardenites stride for stride for the entire game.

With so much being said about the opponents, coupled with TeamCuzz's makeshift team being put together, the match saw yet another TeamCuzz showing up as of previous weeks. This week saw a disciplined defensive unit, a quick attacking unit, and hardworking group of midfielders to bridge the gap between the 2. Fans also had a chance to see ex-Coral duo, Haidhar & Shazrin, in action for the 1st time. Their solid display earned them permanent contracts right away.

Both of TeamCuzz's goals came from the bench. Shahrudin converted from the spot after Shazrin had been bundled over. The Captain then turned supplier, providing a perfectly weighted pass for Haikal to score from close range.

TeamCuzz's efforts in the opening few games have certainly been recognised by the CFL organisers, who on the official website, reported "Gardenites fantastic start was brought to a halt as they drew with Team Cuzz who have proven to be a thorn to the leading sides thus far." Wait a minute, TeamCuzz is not one of the leading sides? And that is what Jon Bon Jovi will describe as a shot through the heart.
