TeamCuzz continued their recent good form in small, one-day tournaments, triumphing in the NTU Alumni Homecoming Soccer 5-turned-6-aside-tournament. The team, made up of NTU alumnus Shahrudin, Khairil, Khairul, Riduan, Luqman & Imran, won the tournament in style. Having brushed aside their opponents in the group and knockout stages effortlessly as if they weren't there, they went into the finals with sky-high confidence and convincingly beat their PRC opponents 9-1, with Riduan and Khairil notching hat-tricks each. Despite the flattering scoreline, the PRCs never gave up trying till the very end, a trait which TeamCuzz should and must have if they have any plans to emerge victorious in the CFL.
"With the exception of the 2 Fifa-approved officials, official NTU cameraman, ball picker and a couple of Indian table tennis & tennis pair, I have never felt more foreign on my own shores! Nevertheless, we have beaten all odds to come away as winners. Job well done lads!" said Chief-de-Mission Shukur, who was ruled out of the tournament with stomach flu.
The team won for themselves gold medals, NTU windbreakers and branded watches. They were presented their prizes in front of a crowd of 7 organizers, as the main crowd had impatiently left the hall for the free buffet spread outside.
The victory was certainly one which proves TeamCuzz's calibre to win a competition organised at national level. Held in conjunction with NTU Alumni's 30th anniversary, NTU alumnus boasted household names like Goh Tat Chuan & U.K. Shyam. & the 6 abovementioned newly-crowned TeamCuzz members.
