A Change in Management

After 3 seasons leading the team to greater heights, TeamCuzz’s Zulkhairi has decided to resign from his post as Manager. The move was a surprise to many as there weren’t any ramblings of players’ unhappiness. In a press conference held at the VIP lounge at Marina Bay Sands, Zulkhairi mentioned that TeamCuzz’s recent performances has reached a state of stagnancy, which he feels could be solved with a slight tweak in personnel.

Knowing that the rumour mill will start rolling off wildly with the likes of Raddy Avramovic, Chris Hughton, Alan Curbishley and Car Ancelotti all seemingly available for the managerial post, the former gaffer instantly named his successor. With immediate effect, Shahrudin will assume the post of Manager while Imran and Saifuddin will be the new TeamCuzz captains. Khairil will continue his role as TeamCuzz’s treasurer, while the group of TeamCuzz advisors is now expanded to 3 - Zulkhairi, Fazlon and Shukur.

During his reign, TeamCuzz has arguably played their best football thus far. The highlight had to be the 1-0 win against Tuas Soccerites, where the player/manager instilled positional discipline in the team to record a famous result which proved to be a turning point that season. His attacking mentality was also shown in TeamCuzz’s biggest rout ever - 11-1 thrashing of Sengkang Rangers. TeamCuzz also benefited from his managerial experience, most clearly shown when he tactically drafted in speedy wingers against Dynamites just before the interval, helping the team to record a convincing 6-0 win on the 1st day of Ramadhan.

Although TeamCuzz did not notch any league honors during his time, the services provided by the man more commonly known as ZA16 in this blog is sincerely cherished by the team. Most importantly, we know with an absolute amount of confidence that Zulkhairi will continue being the backbone of TeamCuzz through his commitment, presence & guidance. And also, the laundry.
