Titanic Clash Ends in Stalemate

The much anticipated game between 2 of the most in-form teams in the league came to a fair conclusion, when both TeamCuzz & Blue Oysters played out a 1-1 draw. It seemed a fair result as both teams had their chances but wasted plenty of it.

TeamCuzz dominated the game from the word go, with the presence of Hyder & Edmund seemingly giving their team an advantage towards playing in the familiar big field of their alma mater. The dominance was not converted into goals, allowing Oysters to grow in confidence and stage a few serious attacks of their own. TeamCuzz had Edmund to thank, when the young custodian single-handedly (quite literally) denied a clear goal by Oyster's winger through his quick reflexes.

The 2nd half saw drastic changes to TeamCuzz's backline, and it showed through Oysters continuous foray into TeamCuzz's half. With confidence shaken, TeamCuzz was left to witness a splendid Oysters goal. Through a perfectly weighted cross from the right, Oyster's striker ran from an onside position, rose high unchallenged and placed the ball superbly into the top corner. What a beatifully-taken goal!

TeamCuzz suddenly raise their tempo after that, as they started to string more passes and getting more adventurous in the Oysters half. It paid off soon after as a cross from winger Haikal was handled by Oyster's last man, and a penalty was duely given. Up-stepped Syed Iskandar, who coolly converted despite the pressure on his shoulders.

Both sides still showed sufficient ambition to rob points from the other after that, but most of the battle was in midfield. With neither team looking like snatching it at the end, the referee blew for the final whistle.

The point gained is still good for TeamCuzz as they did not allow Oysters any advantage over them. However, they MUST beat Oysters in the return clash in a couple of weeks time to firmly establish their title credentials. And that match is scheduled to take place at another big field - Jurong Stadium.
